Job Description

To help run a safe, enjoyable event we need responsible people to act as stewards. Duties include some of the following:

• Letting participant's vehicles on site, noting registration numbers, inspection of passes.
• Directing traffic. Helping stallholders, contractors etc coming onto site.
• Collecting money at the gates, and distributing programmes.
• Ensuring a path for emergency vehicles. Being aware of fire and evacuation procedures.
• Health and safety patrols eg riverside
• Being aware of first aid points. Directing casualties to an appropriate person.
• Bringing lost children to Lost Children's area.
• Helping the public. Liasing with police, fire and ambulance services.
• Liasing with site security and helping the event organisers in a variety of ways.

Pay, Hours and Conditions

Stewards duty periods are staggered throughout the day in 4-hour shifts, starting at 6am and finishing at 11pm. We pay expenses of £24.00 per shift plus give you free entrance to the Fair and a snack with a drink (or a full meal if you do 2 shifts). For legal and safety reasons, there is a compulsory 2 hour briefing session. You must be at least 17 years old.

Briefing Session:	6.30pm Wednesday 21 May 2008 – Kingston Environmental Centre, Fairfield east, KT1 2PT. 3pm Saturday the 24th and Sunday 25th of May 2008 outside The Boaters Inn, Canbury Gardens, Kingston (in the middle of the gardens by the river). .
